On June 1, 2020, SoCal Corporate Growth Partners was funded by Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA), U.S. Department of Commerce, to operate MBDA Business Center CARES Act Program. The Center recognizes the challenges facing the SBEs and MBEs in operating in the environment created by the Coronavirus pandemic. We are uniquely qualified to address these issues and aid these enterprises.
The grant funding is used to administer pandemic training and consulting. Our expansion will include delivery of training and individualized consulting in San Diego, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and parts of Ventura County. To provide individualized consulting and training, some consultants will need to travel for the delivery of services.
The total number of businesses that will be served with this funding will be the businesses all within economically distressed areas as well as targeted rural areas within our geographical boundaries.
Services to include underserved small businesses, women, people of color, veteran-owned businesses and businesses in low-wealth, rural and COVID-19 impacted communities included in a state or federal emergency declaration or proclamation to achieve increased numbers of underserved clients.
